The Land of the Echidnas
This a set of images taken on two walks to the Bamganie State Forest, in October and November 2004. The Forest is about 120 km east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and is the habitat of many species of fauna and flora. We met up with a very shy echidna, ambling across the track, who took refuge in the scrub! The Forest also has remnants of early gold-mining activity, but we found nothing! Mick was my hiking companion, who took some of the pix. Click on the images to see the full-size versions.
