BROADCASTS TO AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Edition 1

The first edition of a BRAND-NEW print publication "BROADCASTS TO AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND" (BTA) is available in mid-April 2006.

This is a replacement for the "Australasian Shortwave Guide" - the last edition (No. 20) was published in November 2005.

BTA is not really new! It was first published many years ago as a supplement to an early Australian commercial electronics magazine. When that magazine ceased operations some 15 years ago, BTA became an independent publication, ultimately transforming itself into the "Australasian Shortwave Guide"

The ASWG has now been retired, s the result of a major review of marketing and content.

The reborn BTA, as a no-frills reference, covers the international shortwave transmission period commencing March 26 2006, and concluding on October 29, 2006, known as the “A06 International Transmission Season”

With several hundred entries, it provides comprehensive information of shortwave broadcasting schedules to Australia and New Zealand for broadcasts in all languages. The complete schedules of Radio Australia and CVC-Australia are included.

The data is arranged in two sections, by studio country and starting time. Each entry shows broadcasting organisation, frequency, starting time, finishing time, language, target area, transmitter site, transmitter country, studio country, and days of operation.

The BTA is compiled from an extensive worldwide network of broadcasters, frequency planners, engineering consultants, professional monitors, and members of the Electronic DX Press Radio Monitoring Association. Information is also included from the detailed research by the author, himself a communications engineer and journalist, with over 44 years experience at both the professional and hobby level.
