1885 J. Balloch opens small bakery and shop in Burwood Rd, in Molesworth building

1888 Commercial Bank,of Australia opens on NE cnr of Auburn and Burwood Rds

1891 J. Balloch opens new two-storey bakery in Auburn Rd

1906 Grainstore opens on NE cnr Auburn/Burwood Rds, on site of former commercial Bank

1915 Horse paddock in use in Russell Place

1915 Brick Stables built in  Russell Place-

1915 Balloch Brothers become joint proprietors and gain rights of carriageway in Russell Place - become tenants in common

1916 industrial action controversary dispute

1930s Bakery supplies food for sustenance

1934 New façade completed/remodelled,  three new flatplate ovens replaced old wood-fired burners

1934 J Balloch dies

1935 Stables extended

1937 Bakery Branch starts in High St, East Kew

1941 Telephone numbers were WA 1941 (Auburn), Hawthorn 3849 (East. Kew)

1950s horses and carts replaced by vans remained

1967 Bakery ceases business. Buildings sold.  Grainstore remains as a Petfood Store.
