IMPROVING WATER SUPPLY

As part of a £750,000 plan to improve the water supply during the summer, a new water main, costing about £80,000, is being laid between Mitcham and Surrey Hills service reservoirs.

The new main will supply 15.000,000 gallons daily to the Surrey Hills reservoir. Preliminary. Work is being carried out in Springvale road, Canterbury. (Argus, August 12, 1938)
