Horner’s Mill - 1932 to 1937

This was a small Mill on the slopes of Mt Donna Buang, about 1 km north of the O’Shannassy Aqueduct. It was mainly used for processing regrowth Ash and Wattle.

Logs were carried by a winch-driven tramway across the O’Shannassy Aqueduct, then transferred to road trucks at Sussex St, then down to the railway, passing through the area now occupied by the Warburton Golf Course.

The Aqueduct bridge crossing is still in good shape, at the Aqueduct Trail entry point next to the Fire/Comms tower at the top of Essex St.

This Mill closed down in 1937.
